Bozeman, MT — Montana Surf Soccer Club and Real Billings FC are proud to announce that the Montana 2010 Boys Junior Premier League (JPL) team, a collaborative effort between the clubs, has earned a coveted spot in the National Premier League (NPL) Finals, taking place this weekend in Denver, Colorado. This marks a historic milestone for Montana youth soccer, as these athletes take the national stage to represent Montana and their home clubs.
After a standout season in the Junior Premier League (JPL)—a regional conference within the NPL—the Montana 2010 Boys team clinched the top spot in their division, showcasing exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork. They bested each team they played during the JPL season, beating Black Hills Rapids 7-0, Colorado Rapids North 1-0, 7 Elite Academy 4-0, Colorado Rush East Academy 4-1, Las Vegas Elite 9-0, Boise Timbers Thorns 1-0, Broomfield Soccer Club 2-1, and Nevada Rush 2-0. Their success now propels them into the NPL Finals, where they’ll compete against the best teams from across the country.
“This achievement reflects our commitment to working collaboratively with clubs across Montana to create meaningful, high-level opportunities for local athletes,” said Vanessa Davis, Montana Surf’s Competitive Director. “Our goal is to build statewide programs and partnerships that are both affordable and impactful so that every Montana player has a pathway to compete at the highest level. These boys are making history and paving the way for the next generation of athletes across our state.”
The NPL Finals provide a unique opportunity for high-level competition, national exposure, and collegiate scouting. The boys will face elite opponents, all while representing a state that continues to gain recognition for developing soccer talent. They will face Illinois’ Gateway Rush Thursday, July 10 at 12:30pm, New Jersey’s Cohansey Premier Friday at 8:30am and California’s LA Krewe Rush on Saturday at 10:30am during the group play stage of the tournament.
The team’s coach, Clay Bost, added:
“This is a moment of pride not just for Montana Surf and Real Billings FC, but for the entire state. Our players have trained hard, competed with heart, and earned their place on a national platform.”
The 2010 Boys team is part of Montana Surf’s growing footprint in elite league participation, including the club’s recent acceptance into the Development Player League (DPL) for girls—another first for Montana.
As the team heads to Denver, the entire Montana soccer community will be cheering them on, proud of their hard work and excited for what’s to come.
