Bozeman, MT — Montana Surf Soccer Club and their Billings partners make history at the NPL Finals in Denver.
This team proved that Montana athletes can compete with anyone in the country. What they accomplished this season is historic for youth soccer in our entire state.
Making Montana History
The Montana Surf 2010 Boys JPL team made history this season by becoming the first team from the state of Montana to qualify for and compete at the NPL National Finals in Denver, Colorado. Playing against the best clubs from across the country, the team represented their state with grit, skill, and an unmatched competitive spirit. The team's journey through the Mountain West NPL season was nothing short of remarkable — winning critical matches against elite clubs from seven states to earn their spot at the national stage. Their second-place finish at the Finals is not just a Montana Surf achievement — it is a landmark moment for youth soccer in the entire state.

The Road to Denver and What Comes Next
Getting to Denver required months of preparation, team cohesion, and coaching excellence. The players and their families committed fully to the process — traveling across the region, training through the winter, and competing every weekend with championship-level focus. Montana Surf is a founding member of the Mountain West NPL, and this result validates that decision entirely. We are proud of every player, coach, and family who made this possible. This is just the beginning — the JPL program will continue to grow, and we believe more Montana teams will follow this group's footsteps to the national stage in the seasons ahead.
