Club Guidelines

Policies & Guidelines

Everything you need to know about participating in Montana Surf programs — from sideline behavior to weather cancellations.

Code of Conduct

All players, parents, coaches, and spectators must demonstrate respect for teammates, opponents, referees, and the game. Unsportsmanlike behavior, abusive language, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.

Sideline Behavior

Parents and spectators are asked to support all players positively from the sidelines. Coaching from the sideline, directing play, or engaging referees is not permitted. Let the coaches coach, the players play, and the referees officiate.

Playing Time Philosophy

In recreational programs, all players receive equal playing time. In Academy and Competitive programs, playing time is earned through effort, attendance, and development — with the goal of challenging every athlete appropriately.

Inclusion & Non-Discrimination

Montana Surf welcomes all athletes regardless of race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, or financial circumstances. We are committed to making soccer accessible to every child in the Gallatin Valley.

Weather & Cancellation

Player safety comes first. Games and practices may be cancelled or modified due to weather conditions, field conditions, or air quality. Families will be notified via team communication channels (Byga app).

Refund Policy

For more information about our refund policies, check the page for the program you are interested in signing up for.

Concussion & Safety Protocol

Montana Surf follows all MYSA and US Club guidelines regarding concussion management and player safety. Any player suspected of a concussion will be immediately removed from play and must be cleared by a medical professional before returning.

Photo & Media Policy

Montana Surf may photograph or video players during games, practices, and events for use on our website, social media, and promotional materials. Families may opt out by contacting our registrar at administrator@montanasurf.org.
